Miguel Angel Bautista is a research scientist in the Machine Learning Research group at Apple were he works on generative models, 3D, geometric deep learning and unsupervised learning. Prior to joining Apple, Miguel was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Heidelberg working on some of the first approaches for self-supervised learning in vision. Miguel got his PhD from University of Barcelona where he worked on Error-Correcting Representations for Multi-class problems spending a big part of his PhD at Carnegie Mellon. Miguel has obtained national awards in Spain for both his Master's and PhD thesis. Miguel's long term goal is to understand and design probablistic models that can leverage large-scale data to understand the physical world.
